My passion for fitness started as a young child and has always been an important part of my life. I remember doing workouts with my mom in our living room. Watching her do hard things made me believe that I could do hard things, too. I played a few years of soccer in high school and enjoyed that, but at the end of my third year on the team, I broke my wrist and hung up my soccer cleats for good. What I've learned along life's journey is that you have to work hard for what you want, because no one will do it for you.
In 2011, I was introduced to CrossFit when a friend suggested that we try a free trial at a local gym. I had heard of CrossFit before, but had no idea what it was about. Needless to say, I took one class and I was hooked and I knew I would do this for the rest of my life! At the time, I was a bank manager and was certain it was my Forever Career. Over the years it grew to be more stressful and unenjoyable for me, because I knew in my heart it was not what I was supposed to be doing. I dreamed of coaching at our gym and I wanted to do that more than anything! Finally in 2018, I left my banking career when the branch I managed closed. I knew this was my opportunity to do something I loved and had wanted to do for so long! I approached the gym owners and asked if I could recreate and bring back a retired program called DenExpress (Dx)! When they agreed that it would be good for our members, I sprang at the opportunity and put everything I had into making this program a success!
Coaching has been the most fun, exciting and fulfilling job I have ever had. There is something so rewarding to watch people's lives transform by making the choice to workout and eat better. I watch members achieve things they never thought they could and the excitement for their accomplishments are sheer joy to my heart. Our members are more than just people to me. When I coach, I love to have fun, make people laugh and deliver an awesome workout. I want each member to leave feeling like they are valued, important and it was worth their time to show up. I am motivated by the success of those around me. I am so grateful for the owners of our gym, the coaches on our team and the members who make up the awesome community in The Den family.
